The textile industry looks forward to the dawn before the
dawn of the textile industry is currently in a difficult period of internal and external troubles, some people optimistically regard it as the darkness before the dawn, do not know how many enterprises in the dark silently fall, and how many remnants of the enterprise in the dark look forward to the dawn as soon as possible.
Since August 1, the export tax rebate rate of some textiles and clothing has increased from 11% to 13%, which is good news and undoubtedly makes some textile enterprises see the dawn.
Since last year, the textile industry has been plagued by many unfavorable factors - RMB appreciation, export tax rebate reduction, raw material price increases, the implementation of the new labor contract law, environmental restrictions, the United States subprime mortgage crisis to reduce international market demand, etc.
These unfavorable factors have caused the textile industry to face a serious existential crisis. According to the recent statistics, the cumulative loss of the textile industry in January ~ May 2008 reached 9.958 billion yuan, a significant increase of 2.972 billion yuan over the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 42.54%. The growth rate of losses in the first two months of this year was 37.20%, and the growth rate of losses in January ~ November last year was only 14.34%. It shows that under the influence of drastic changes in the internal and external environment, the overall profit decline of the textile industry is indeed accelerating.
According to the survey of the Textile Chamber of Commerce, at present, due to the pressure of the external environment, many enterprises in passive adjustment have suffered a greater impact. In particular, some small and medium-sized enterprises have repeatedly reduced production, laid off employees, and suspended work.
Although many textile companies prefer to regard the current predicament as "darkness before dawn". In their view, the impact of the current round of the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis should gradually dissipate in a year or two, when the Sino-US textile agreement has also expired, and China's textile and garment exports will definitely see the light again. But we should also clearly understand that the darkness in front of us is long, we need to "bear", can "persevere" until the future of the enterprise to see the dawn, in this process, there will still be a considerable number of small and medium-sized enterprises will fade out of the competition stage forever.
The increase in the export tax rebate rate of textiles is obviously a timely helping hand extended by the government when small and medium-sized enterprises are facing unprecedented difficulties. Perhaps it gives some companies hope for survival.
For export-oriented enterprises, the export tax rebate rate is adjusted by one percentage point, which is equivalent to directly increasing the amount of 1% of the total export value of the enterprise to the profit of the enterprise. Not only that, but it can also effectively alleviate the competitive pressure brought by "export to domestic sales" on the domestic market.
However, what is worrying is that due to the lack of brands and low added value of China's textile and garment, the lack of independent pricing power for exports has been achieved. If the export tax rebate rate is raised, foreign buyers will take the opportunity to lower prices, and it is possible that the profits obtained by enterprises from raising export tax rebates will be encroached upon by foreign buyers. Therefore, in order to truly survive the darkness and meet the tomorrow of the textile industry, technological innovation and industrial upgrading are the final way out for the textile and garment industry.
As Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng said in an interview with media reporters not long ago, the stability policy has become the consensus of relevant departments, but enterprises must also assess the situation and speed up adjustment.
At present, what textile enterprises need to do is to sharpen themselves in anticipation, improve their independent innovation capabilities, and usher in the dawn before dawn as soon as possible.
